KCA University has partnered with Kisumu County government to offer design and performing arts programs. The two institutions will jointly create a design academy to make Kisumu a capital city for design and performing arts to tap on the many untapped talents in the great county of Kisumu.
Speaking when he paid a courtesy call at Prof. Anyang Nyong’o’s office, KCAU Vice Chancellor Prof. Noah O. Midamba said through joint collaborative efforts with Kisumu County Government, the university was fast tracking the rebirth of theatre in Western region by putting up a state of the art Kisumu Art, Cultural and Fashion Centre.
Kisumu County Governor Prof. Anyang Nyong’o said the centre will be a magnet to many investors with interest to invest in leather goods, clothings, artistics artifacts, fashion and performing arts, with its vantage location alongside the lake show thus capturing the whole features of Kisumu.
Prof. Midamba was accompanied by Image Consultant and Fashion Stylist Connie Aluoch, KCAU Dean Regional and campuses Dr. Gladys Bunyasi and Kisumu Campus Principal Roggers Abong’o.
KCA University also launched its western campus as it seeks to tap into the growing student population in the region. The launch of the campus comes at a time when institutions have pitched tents in the region to address the skills gap affecting the employment in the region.
The inauguration of the campus also coincided with the launch of master of commerce degree(MSc.) program at KCAU western campus.
The launch was attended by a host of leaders, including Vihiga Deputy Governor Dr. Patrick Saisi, and Kisumu Central MP Fred Ouda
